We're thrilled to be back with another exciting update, showcasing the latest advancements in CometChat.

Introducing Interactive Messages

Go beyond standard messaging

Gone are the days when a messaging app was just a place to exchange text. Today's businesses are pushing the boundaries of what messaging can do, turning it into a hub for interactive experiences that drive engagement and streamline workflows.

Our Interactive Messages feature introduces pre-built interactive elements that seamlessly integrate into your messaging experience, eliminating the need for front-end engineering expertise. While custom messages in CometChat previously enabled such non-standard messaging experiences, Interactive Messages simplifies the process, offering out-of-the-box solutions.

We're talking forms, cards, and more – all built to make your messaging app a powerhouse of engagement.

Forms: Gather Information with Ease

Picture this: you need to collect information from a user, but you don't want to send them off to a separate form. With Interactive Messages, you can embed a form right into the chat window.  Customize form fields to suit your specific needs and seamlessly incorporate them into the messaging UI without any development effort.

You can also personalize the post-form experience, displaying a thank you message, opening a specific URL, activating a webhook, or calling an API based on the user's response.

Interactive Cards: Guide Users with Style

Interactive Cards are like chat-bot/IVR-style mini-applications that give users a range of actionable options. Need to schedule an appointment? Remind users of tasks? Help customers choose the perfect product? Interactive Cards are your answer.

Similar to Forms, Interactive Cards offer granular control over post-click actions for each card element.

With Interactive Messages, you can transform your messaging experience into a powerful tool for engaging users, streamlining processes, and enhancing customer satisfaction.

UI Kit Support for new frameworks

Unlock the potential of chat across trending frameworks

While we're laser-focused on providing the best-in-class infrastructure for building real-time messaging apps, we're also committed to being technology-agnostic and developer-friendly. That's why we're thrilled to expand our supported technologies list to include some of the recent popular frameworks around: Nuxt.js, Next.js and Hermes.

This expansion means you can now seamlessly integrate CometChat's powerful messaging capabilities into your Nuxt.js, Next.js, or Hermes-based applications.

Key Enhancements

Mentions are now part of the core messaging SDK

Previously available as an extension, Mentions is now seamlessly integrated into our core messaging SDK and API, offering a more streamlined and efficient experience.

With this enhancement, you can effortlessly retrieve all mentions within a message or determine whether a specific user has been mentioned, all through our APIs and SDKs. This granular control provides greater flexibility in managing user interactions and tailoring your messaging experience.

To ensure a smooth transition, we've made the new native Mentions feature optional, allowing you to continue using the existing Mentions extension if you prefer. However, we recommend gradually transitioning to the native Mentions feature as it will become the preferred method in the future. We will also be supporting this through native UI kits shortly. Check out the documentation here.

We'll see you again in a month with more updates. Until then, happy building!
