Integration Steps

Show the “Reply in Thread” Option

In V6, compose the thread screen using individual widgets:

Send a Threaded Message

Thread Subscription

Available since v6.1.1. Users can subscribe to a thread to be notified about its replies, or unsubscribe to mute it. The feature is off by default — enable it with UIKitSettingsBuilder.enableThreadSubscription, and the message action menu and the threaded header gain a subscribe toggle — as does the thread screen’s CometChatMessageHeader when you pass it the thread’s parentMessage. See the Thread Subscription guide.

Customization Options

  • Header Styling: Customize CometChatThreadedHeader appearance
  • Composer Placeholder: Change placeholder text based on thread context
  • Empty State: Display “No replies yet” when thread is empty
