Information Collected by Us
Information customer provides: We collect the e-mail addresses of customers who communicate with us via e-mail or on chat. We also collect information provided to us by customers who subscribe to CometChat or purchase our other Services (collectively, “Purchase Information”). Purchase Information includes the following: name, address, e-mail address, telephone number, company, country. We also collect information when end-users use our application: ID, name, profile image and profile link, list of friends, role and messages.
No financial Information collected: We do not seek and/or collect financial data, debit card/credit card information or other sensitive financial information of customers directly for the online cloud based or app based subscriptions. All the financial transactions on our Website are processed through Paddle, which is governed by Paddle’s respective terms and privacy policies. Paddle.com claims that it is EUGDPR compliant entity.
Information collected for Support Services: If you request remote support services, such as technical support or software installation or upgrades, we may collect certain information required to fulfil your request. For further information in this regard please read our Support Policy.
Information accessible to CometChat
We have access to your information only for the purpose of transmitting conversations from one user to another. If you browse through our Website without entering any personal data, we will gather and store certain information about your visit. This information does not identify you personally and cannot be linked back to you unless you decide to identify yourself. If you are only browsing our Website, we collect the following information: IP address, the type of browser and operating system used to access our Website, the date and time you accessed our Website and the pages you visit (click-through).
How we use the information provided by you
We may use your personal information to send you e-mail communications regarding products or services offered by us or by third parties with whom we have relationships, subsequent to your express consent to receive such communications. As per the European Union General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”), a user or customers personal information pertaining to his/her race, religion, caste, sexual orientation or health is considered to be sensitive in nature (collectively, “Sensitive Personal Information”). Where we need to process your Sensitive Personal Information for legitimate purposes we do so in accordance with the applicable law.
Following termination of Services or deactivation of your account, we may retain information (including your profile information) and User Content for a commercially reasonable time for backup, archival, and audit purposes.
Upon termination by a customer or cessation of use by a customer before the expiry of his/her annual subscription to CometChat Services, it is clarified that the subscription fee paid by the customer will not be refunded.
If you prefer for us not to provide your name and e-mail or postal address to third parties for direct marketing purposes, please contact us.
The Service are not intended for the users under the age of 18 (eighteen), unless permitted under applicable local laws (“Permissible Age”).
