As you may be aware, our existing whiteboard and screen sharing plugins, made use Adobe LCCS. Adobe has decided to discontinue this service without prior intimation. When we first heard about this from Adobe, we immediately began work to create new plugins which do not rely on this service.
Along the way, we had a chance to add new features as well!
The new screen sharing plugin allows your users to control the screen remotely! Not only can your users view each other’s screens, they can also control them.
The new whiteboard plugin has tons of new options and a cleaner layout which blends smoothly into our existing look and feel.
If you would like to use the screen sharing, you will need RED5 server (open-source). The software can either be hosted on your own server or you can use a third-party host. You can learn more by reading up our configuration guide for screen sharing.
If you would like to use whiteboard plugin, you will need either RED5 (open-source) or Adobe FMS server (commercial). Both software can either be hosted on your own server or you can use a third-party host. You can learn more by reading up our configuration guide for whiteboard.
