We are excited to launch the collaborative whiteboard and document extensions for Chat applications!

Collaboration is powerful! Gone are the days where we met each other personally to share and discuss. We understand that when dispersed across geographies or global pandemics situation like COVID 19, online collaboration is important no matter where you are!

By allowing organizations to share information via a global network, online collaboration allows people who are geographically dispersed to work together more effectively than in the past.

You might be in education, health, or any sector where you feel the need to share and collaborate with your team, students, teachers, or healthcare practitioners. You can now collaborate, discuss, and share ideas in real-time using our online collaboration documents and whiteboard extension.

Now, let's go through how to integrate online collaborative whiteboard and document in your chat application.

Steps to enable collaborative whiteboard in your Chat

1. Add Collaborative whiteboard extension

Please follow these steps below

Sign in/Sign up on https://app.cometchat.com
Create/select your chat widget
Head to extensions section on dashboard
Select Collaborative Whiteboard > Add extension

2. Setup settings for Collaborative whiteboard extension

Please follow these steps below

Click on installed extensions
Select collaborative whiteboard settings
Enter the CometChat REST Api Key
Click on SAVE button to enable the collaborative extension

3. Enable collaborative whiteboard in your chat

Please follow these steps below

Click on Chat widgets section on dashboard
Choose/Create your Chat app
Click on main settings
Head to more interactivity > enable create & share collaborative whiteboard
Click on Save & Done button

Once all the above steps are followed diligently, an icon to share whiteboard will show up in your chat. Click on it and get started using whiteboard and start collaborating!

Steps to enable collaborative document in your Chat

We will follow similar steps mentioned above like the collaborative whiteboard to enable the collaborative document extension

1. Add Collaborative document extension

Create/select your chat app
Head to extensions section on dashboard
Select Collaborative document > Add extension

2. Setup settings for Collaborative document extension

Click on installed extensions
Select collaborative document settings
Enter the CometChat REST Api Key
Click on SAVE button to enable the collaborative document extension

3. Enable collaborative document in your chat

Click on Chat widgets section on dashboard
Choose/Create your Chat widget
Click on main settings
Head to more interactivity > enable create & share collaborative document
Click on Save & Done button

Once all the above steps are followed diligently, an icon to share document will show up in your chat. Click on it and get started using collaborative document and start collaborating!
