This article addresses the issue of tray icons not being displayed on the CometChat bar.

Solution

• Base URL is incorrect

If your base URL is incorrect then the images will not appear and CometChat will fail to function. The BASE_URL is usually ‘/cometchat/’ when the CometChat folder is uploaded to the root. You can modify the base URL by logging into administration panel and selecting the Settings Tab. Then click on Change Base URL and update the path.

• Images have not been uploaded correctly

If you have uploaded the images in ASCII mode, then your images will appear as corrupted. Make sure your images are uploaded in BINARY mode only.
